- Open the Tasks console (see Tasks), and click the New Task button.
- In the page that opens, select the SNMP Trap option, and then click Continue.
The SNMP Trap Task page opens. - In Name, type the name of the new task.
- In Description, type a description of the new task; optional.
- In Connection Details, select the SNMP account to use, or click New to define a new SNMP account (see Creating an Account).
- In SNMP Trap OID, type the OID of the SNMP trap; mandatory only for SNMP version 2 account.
- In SNMP Community, type the name of the target community; optional; default is Public.
- Specify the SNMP trap variables. See the Specifying SNMP Trap Variables section below.
- Open To schedule the task for automatic running, open the Schedule tab.In Set Frequency, select the frequency of sending the SNMP Trap message: Never, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, and then complete the options that appear for your selected frequency, and set the parameters as described in Scheduling a Task.
- Click Save.
The task is saved and appears in the Tasks console in the Tasks list.
