Enable API for salesforce for SalesForce instance
Go to the setup page of your instance.
On quick find: search for App Manager and click on it.
Click on New Connected app.
Fill the form. Put any name you’d like
Mark the “Enable Oauth settings” checkbox and on Selected Oauth Scopes add “Full access (full)”
Uncheck the “Require Secret for web server overflow” checkbox and click save
On quick find: search for “manage connected apps” in the and click on it
You will see a table with your connected apps. Press edit on the action column of your app
Change IP relaxation to Relax IP restrictions
Go to the app manager again (search in quick find) . Look for your app in the shown table and press the down arrow on the right of the table row. Press edit
You will find the consumer key and consumer secret there. These are the details secret required for Oauth authentication for token retrieval

To add a salesforce log

In the add data page, fill in the username and password which are used to enter your salesforce account

- In Add Data pane click on SalesForce.
- To change a log source, near Source Type, click on the Change button.
- Create a SalesForce account:
- In the Username, enter your SalesForce account username.
- In the Password, enter your SalesForce account password.
In the Instance name, enter your SalesForce URL (should be of the form ****.salesforce.com)

Choose the desired logs form the Choose Logs.

- Verify and save.
- In the Time To Retrieve, select the default past time to retrieve CloudTrail data.
- Click DONE – XpoLog applies an automated pattern on the incoming log. Verify that data is displayed and parsed properly.
- Click SAVE and follow one of the following:
Save & Close – XpoLog saves the new log and points to the logs tree. locate the log in the logs tree and enter the viewer in order to view the log.
Save & Add Another – XpoLog saves the new log and points to Add Log screen so that you may another log.
Optionally, defining the basic information of the new log (see Setting Log General Information).
