  1. In XpoLog Left Navigation Panel, in the Folders and Logs tree, select any log in the system.
    The log records are displayed in the Log Viewer.
  2. Select the Configuration > Save as Template menu item.
    The Save Template page is displayed. 
    Note: A log must be selected before selecting  Configuration > Save as Template. Otherwise, an error occurs.
  3. Select one of the following:
  4. Overwrite an existing template: 
    1. Select an existing template from the templates' list.
      Note: the template will be overwritten by the configuration of the log that is currently being saved as the template. The template's Name and Description will remain as before.
  5. Create a new template:
    Mouse over the log and right click on it. Option bar opens
    Select Save as Template. 
  6. New Template Console opens:
      1. Type a Name for the template
      2. Type a Description for the template
    1. Type a Unique Identifier for the template - it is mainly used when XpoLog receive data with a 'Type' - then it applied the template's configuration automatically on the received data if the template's Unique Identifier matches the received type (in XpoLog Listeners for example).
  7. Click Save.The Templates page opens, displaying the new template name on the templates list.

  1. In Left Navigation Panel, enter Data > Patterns and locate in the Templates Console the latest added Template.
