The Add Logs Directory wizard enables users to add to XpoLog, multiple logs that are located in a local or remote directory. The user can capture logs from a log directory, by scanning their local or remote directory for log directories, and selecting the log directory and the log files inside the log directory that they want to place in XpoLog. dded Logs Directory appear under Folders and Logs in the left panel. You can click a log in the added Logs Directory to view it.
In order to add multiple logs that are located under a directory to XpoLog, use
the ‘Add Logs Directory’ wizard:

Specify the following details:
Select the location type of the directory - 'Local, Windows Network or
over SSH (Windows Network and SSH requires a connectivity account).
Enter the path to the directory that contains the log files.
Advanced Settings
o
Files Filters: which types of files to exclude/include as part of the
process and how many sub-directories to scan.
o
Scan Method: the automatic patterns that matched to the logs are
taken from existing configuration based on log names, contents and
automatically patterns generator. You may select which type of
mechanism to use; by default all mechanisms are active.
o
Files Name Pattern: by default, XpoLog will apply generic name
patterns to files with the same name convention. You may set the
wizard to capture each file separately.
Click the ´next’ button to perform the scan.

XpoLog will present a list of folders and logs that were detected. You
can specify the parent folder of the new folders and logs and tag the
folders and logs to an application.
Click the ‘Save’ button to create the selected folders and logs.
Add Log
In order to add a new log to XpoLog, you can use
To add a log directory to XpoLog:
- Open the XpoLog tab, and in XpoLog Manager, click Add Logs Directory

Open the XpoLog tab, and in the Administration menu, select Add Logs Directory

In the XpoLog homepage, in the left pane under More Actions, click Add logs directory
OR
In the XpoLog homepage, in the left pane under More Actions, click Quick start wizard, and in the Quick Start Wizard that opens, click Add Logs Directory.
The Add Logs Directory Wizard opens. - In Select Directory Location, select one of the following:
Local - follow the procedure in Adding a Local Logs Directory
Windows Network - follow the procedure in Adding a Windows Network Directory to XpoLog
Over SSH - follow the procedure in Adding an SSH Log Directory to XpoLog
Hadoop HDFS - follow the procedure in Adding a Hadoop HDFS Log Directory to XpoLog
