To add a Hadoop HDFS directory to XpoLog:
  1. Under Wizard Settings, in Connection Details, select the Hadoop HDFS account used to connect to the server where the directory resides, or click the new link to add a Hadoop HDFS account to the system (see   ) .
  2. In Select Directory, type the path to the logs directory, or click Browse and in the System Files Browser that opens, expand the folders to get to the desired directory, and then click Select.
    The path to the directory is displayed in Select Directory.
  3. Optionally, configure Advanced Settings (see Configuring Advanced Settings).
  4. Click Next
    A Progress box displays the status of the system as it scans the directory for logs, a process that can take several minutes. When the scan completes, the Add Logs Directory Wizard opens.
  5. In the General and Folders and Logs sections of the Add Logs Directory Wizard, select the parent folder of the log directory, optionally tag the log directory to applications, and select the folders and logs in the directory to add to XpoLog (see Placing the Log Directory in XpoLog).
