Adding a Gadget to a Dashboard

Multiple gadgets can be added to a single dashboard. For example, in a dashboard for Security, you can add as many gadgets as necessary that are related to the security of your organization.

Gadgets of the following types can be added to a dashboard:

• Search Result Over Time – Displays a line/bar/stacked bar chart showing a count over time of log events matching a given XpoSearch query; gadget has a View in XpoSearch link that can be clicked to navigate to the XpoSearch search engine to perform a drilldown.
• Search Result Events – Displays a table/list showing log events matching a given XpoSearch query; gadget has a View in XpoSearch link that can be clicked to navigate to the XpoSearch search engine to perform a drilldown. 
• Search Result Chart – Displays a pie chart (of net aggregation) or bar chart showing a count of log events matching a given XpoSearch query
• Search Result Table – Displays a table showing a count of log events matching a given XpoSearch query, grouped by log, application, or server
• Search – Displays a search query area for performing a search in XpoSearch
• Log and Filter Over Time – Displays a line/bar chart showing a count over time of selected predefined filters from a given log; gadget has a View in XpoLog link that can be clicked to navigate to the XpoSearch search engine to perform a drilldown.
• Log and Filter Events – Displays a table/list showing log events matching selected predefined filters from a given log; gadget has a View in XpoLog link that can be clicked to navigate to the XpoSearch search engine to perform a drilldown.
• Log and Filter Chart – Displays a pie/bar chart showing a count of selected predefined filters from a given log
• Log and Filter Table – Displays a table showing a count of selected predefined filters from a given log
• Complex Search Over Time – Displays a line/bar/stacked bar chart showing a count over time of the result of a complex XpoSearch query; gadget has a View in XpoSearch link that can be clicked to navigate to the XpoSearch search engine to perform a drilldown.
• Complex Search Chart – Displays a pie/bar chart showing a count of the result of a complex XpoSearch query
• Geo IP Map – Displays a Geo IP map of the result of a given search, grouped by countries or cities; used to find the city or country of an IP address in a log record 
• Complex Search Table – Displays a table showing a count of the result of a complex XpoSearch query
• Transactions Table – Displays transactions matching a given search
• Report Result – Displays the latest result of an existing XpoLog report
• Analytics Log Problems – Displays log problems detected by Analytics
• Analytics Server Problems – Displays server problems detected by Analytics
• Analytics Recent Alerts – Displays the ten most recent alerts sent by Analytics
• Analytics Problems Over Time – Displays a line/bar chart showing a severity over time of Analytics problems; gadget has a View in Analytics link that can be clicked to navigate to the Analytics engine to perform a drilldown.

To add a gadget to an existing dashboard:

1. Open the dashboard to which you want to add a gadget, and in the dashboard toolbar, click the Add Gadget icon.
   The Select Gadget page opens, displaying the available gadget types.

2. Click a gadget type.
   A page opens for defining the information for the new gadget.

3. Fill in the fields of the selected gadget type:
