Group by Columns

The Group by Columns report summarizes the number of occurrences for each value in a log column, or in a combination of log columns. This is equivalent to the "group by" search. 

Group by Columns Report Structure

Each column is presented in a separate report (tab). For example, Group by (method), Group by (URL), etc. 

  • Results Summary Bar – above the Graph Area; displays the total number of different results (i.e. the total number of groups). For example, the total number of different URLs. 
  • Graph Area – Under Summary, displays a summary pie chart showing the distribution of the total number of occurrences per group (e.g. the total number of occurrences for each URL.). In addition, under Contexts Over Time, displays a graph showing the distribution of occurrences over time.  
  • Results Area – The results area lists each group and the total number of occurrences. You can filter the list according to column value(s), by typing string(s) in the open fields above the list of results.  Â
