Documentation
We are constantly improving our documentation and resources. Recently, we published a new documentation site – http://wiki.xpolog.com, Q&A site – http://answers.xpolog.com, and technical support site – http://support.xpolog.com. We are working hard to update the resources to provide as detailed and accurate documentation as possible.
General System Enhancements
Distributed Deployments Updates
Software updates (upgrades, maintenance patches, fixes, etc.) can be published from a single XpoLog instance interface to all cluster nodes and remote XpoLog instances.
Data Statistics and Monitoring
XpoLog System Status was enhanced and presents a new data section that summarizes XpoLog's data activity - volume averages, minimum/maximum per log/application/server for business hours activity and non-business hours activity. In addition, monitoring rules may be applied to immediately get alerts on logs/applications/servers which are not being collected or being collected with less/more data than anticipated.
Agent Mode Support
A a single location to configure XpoLog service to run as an agent (also directly during installation). Relevant for Remote XpoLog node which is used only to collect data from remote sources and for LogSync task.
Internet Explorer 11 Support
XpoLog 5.0 was enhanced to support IE11.
Scalability
Large scale mechanism was updated and optimized to better support environments with more than 50,000 log types being managed.
XpoLog Manager
Syslog Listeners (UDP / TCP)
XpoLog may be configured to monitor incoming Syslog messages and decode the messages to be available in XpoLog. XpoLog can listen on UDP and/or TCP ports for syslog data arriving from one or more source devices. You can use XpoLog to receive syslog data from these source devices for easy searching, reporting and alerting - XpoLog can automatically split the received syslog data and create a dedicated log per source device.
Logstash Integration
XpoLog’s architecture allows receiving data sent by logstash, using XpoLog's logstash output. In order to do this, a Syslog listener account should be created in XpoLog for receiving the data on a specific network port, and the XpoLog logstash output should be sending data to this listener.
Hadoop Updates
XpoLog was enhanced to support integration to the latest hadoop versions.
Collection Policies Updates
XpoLog's collection policies were enhanced to be able to assign each collection policy to a specific processor node in the cluster (relevant for clusters with 2+ processor nodes).
A priority can also be assigned to a collection policy to determine the order in which logs will be collected.
Directory Scanner Enhancements
Additional parameters added to the automated 'XML based Scanner Configuration'.
LogSync Enhancements
Additional parameters added to the 'LogSync Task'.
XpoLog Search
New Search Functions
XpoLog's Search syntax was enhanced with implementation of more complex functions such as Percentile calculation, Standard Deviation and more. More>
Search API enhancements
XpoLog's Search API was enhanced with more options to query XpoLog remotely. More>
XpoLog Dashboards
Export Dashboards to CSV
CSV generation is now integrated directly from a dashboard view or a specific gadget view. In addition, you can now schedule an automated process to send out a snapshot of dashboards as CSV.
