Documentation

All technical documentation is available at http://wiki.xplg.com, and in our technical support site – http://support.xplg.com. We are working hard to update the resources to provide as detailed and accurate documentation as possible.

General System Enhancements

- XPLG New Look and Feel

We have replaced the look and feel of XPLG. The Manager now displays an updated overview screen with general system status and all menus were integrated into a navigation panel on the left.
Internal screens - Folders and Logs, Monitors, AppTags, Add Data and more were replaced with new UI and advanced UX to help users get better results and faster and make administrators flows much more intuitive.

- Home page modifications

XPLG default home page was replaced and presents useful shortcuts to multiple ways to add data to XPLG - adding data from a specific system, custom logs, or use build-in listener that receives data from syslog (TCP/UDP) or HTTP (JSON).

- SDK/API Enhancements

XPLG SDK and XPLG API were enhanced to support more remote based operations. The SDK and API provide more methods for accessing and managing more features in the product.

- Auto Scaling

XPLG engines now automatically identify available processing machines in a XPLG cluster, and distribute all backend jobs dynamically between them - this dynamic mechanism ensures efficient resources utilization and maximizes performance.

There is no configuration required, this mechanism works automatically.

XPLG Apps

An XPLG App is a container that contains one or more dashboards. Each dashboard in the App is used to display visual or textual information from the logs that exist in the XPLG environment.
Apps and Dashboards simplify and expedite analysis of an Application or Environment. The Dashboards provide live visualization of the data to quickly expose and understand faults and outages.

XPLG contains a set of predefined analytic Apps as well in its Marketplace and any custom App can be created by users on the managed data - see XPLG Apps for more information.

For Administration related topics - see Apps Administration

- Applications New Look and Feel

XPLG Applications and Dashboard look and feel were enhanced. Each application is opened with its dashboards displayed on a navigation panel, new layouts, global, white/dark theme and more.

- Automatic Applications Deployment

When adding data to XPLG, if using XPLG automatic pattern builder (via Add data by System or in the Patterns Administration) XPLG will parse and tag the logs according to their source system. Following, XPLG will automatically suggest available applications containing predefined dashboards on the added systems to be deployed instantly and display a detailed, visualized, analysis of the added data.

- XPLG Application Marketplace

Many new out of the box Analytics Apps were added to XPLG Marketplace including multiple Windows and Linux distributions, F5, Palo Alto, Juniper, Active Directory, Syslog, AWS services, IIS, NGINX, JBoss, WebLogic, WebSphere, Tomcat and more.

- Applications Performance

Major improvements of dashboards generation and loading.

XPLG Manager

- XPLG Manager Structure

XPLG Manager (available at the right hand side of the Tabs bar) structure has been changed and all its menus were embedded into the left navigation panel.
When entering the Manager an Overview page is displayed with useful, summarized, information on XPLG's sources, usage and general status.

- Add Data by System

XPLG now automates data definition process from multiple systems. Available from the default home, select a system and XPLG will walk you through the definition process to build all required configuration automatically including data locations, patterns and tagging.
Once data is saved via the systems wizard, XPLG automatically identifies it and suggests an analytic application to be deployed on the data.
