Mapping Sources by AppTag

Mapping Sources by AppTag

When adding an AppTag to the system, you should associate with the AppTag its members, i.e. system elements connected to the AppTag. This association enables managing a mini logical environment within XpoLog.
Only the selected members will be available to users who are authorized to use the AppTag, and its very helpful for searches/monitoring/dashboards source definition.

To associate members with an AppTag:
  1. Add/Edit an AppTag.

  2. Select a member type from the left section and set the members of the AppTag.
The main section is Folders and Logs where you can associate logs to the AppTag using 2 methods:

    1. Use Logs Sources

Enter a source query that dynamically associate logs with the AppTag based on their log, folder, and server name.
      For example: log.LOG_NAME_PATTERN, folder.FOLDER_NAME_PATTERN, server.SERVER_NAME_PATTERN

    2. Logs hierarchy

Manually select Folders/Logs from the tree that are associated with the AppTag.

  3. Click Save.

  4. The members are associated with the AppTag.
