Reports

XpoLog comes with a built-in advanced reporting engine that enables you to generate reports that have been predefined by the administrator, for any log defined in the system, so that you can better analyze and understand your data. These reports can be automated or manually run, and can be sent by email to a list of users.

XpoLog enables you to generate any of the following report types:

• Filters Summary – Generates a report that summarizes the number of filtered records over time, for each filter defined for this log, or for a selected group of log filters.  For example, if you have a log with a Priority field, you can generate a report that has been defined to analyze the total number of occurrences and the distribution over time of the different values of the Priority field, such as 'info', 'warn', 'error', and 'fatal'.
• Group by Columns – Generates a report that summarizes the number of occurences of each value in a log column, or in a combination of log columns. This is equivalent to the "group by" search.
• Content Analysis – Automatically scans the log's contents and identifies predefined expressions that may be indicative of a problem, and then creates a report that shows the total number for each of these expressions.
• Unique Messages – Generates a report of the types of messages in the log columns, and the number of each message type.
• Custom – Executes specific functions on the log's columns, such as the average value of the column, the aggregated sum of the column, and so on. It then generates a report, which includes the information retrieved by performing these functions on the columns' values.
