Content Analysis

XpoLog automatically scans the log's contents and identifies predefined expressions that may be indicative of a problem. The Content Analysis report shows the total number of occurrences for each of these expressions.

Content Analysis Report Structure

The Content Analysis Report lists the various expressions in tabular format:

  • Problem – the name of the expression. Click the name to see the source of the expression in the log file. You can filter the problem by typing a string in the open field at the top.
  • Type – a categorization of the expression. For example, if the expression is a standard error in Java, its type is "Java Errors".  You can filter the type by typing a string in the open field at the top.
  • Summary – a description of the error, the relevant text that is extracted from the log, and an optional link to external resources, which provide more information about the problem and its solution.
  • Risk – predefined risk factors for each type of error. Risks may be categorized as "High", "Medium", or "Low".  You can filter the risk by selecting the risk level at the top.
  • Total – the total number of occurrences for the expression. You can filter the total by typing a string in the open field at the top.

You can filter the table results according to its Problem, Type, Risk, and/or Total value(s), by typing string(s) in the open fields below the respective column headers of the table.
